This in UK is cheapest £508 which is a $1000. *So even with duty if applicable it would be a great thing to sell in the market here.

I don't think Amazon US will ship this to the UK before anybody gets excited.

From their site:

They dont ship to UK. If you have any friends in US have it sent to them otherwise just enjoy the price difference.

USA camcorders use NTSC which gives a lower quality picture than PAL UK versions, and may not be compatible with some TV's in the UK.

There are some dual NTSC/PAL camcorders but not many, and if the shops sell the PAL vesions they are more expensive.

The chargers may be the correct voltage for the UK, but you will need an adapter from 2 pins to 3.

It's not a good idea to purchase a camcorder from the USA, as you will also find it very difficult to sell.

Don't forget the import duty also !

Amazon are not Ebay, and will declare the full value !

Not only import duty but VAT also, on items over £18. So don't forget to add 22.5% tax on top (17.5% VAT & 5% import tax)

they don't have this issue with grey imported consoles which are 60hz compared to 50hz PAL

I've bought books from Amazon.com before. I can't remember whether I had them shipped to my then-boyfriend in the States or whether they were sent to me directly. I think they do ship books overseas, though I might be wrong, but the shipping charges might be prohibitive.
